Animal Crossing: New Horizons' April Update Brings Visitors, Events and... Art Fraud?

The deserted island of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is becoming less barren and lifeless by the day. With the latest announced update, set to release 23rd April, a slew of in-game events are set to join the island's annual roster. In addition, a couple of regular visitors to the island will spice up players' weeks, offering unique and alluring goods and services. Check out the update's trailer above and read on for an overview of what to expect upon downloading the update.

Leif's Garden Shop

Leif, a nature-obsessed sloth, will now regularly visit players' islands. Offering an assortment of interesting an exotic shrubs, seeds and foliage types. It's no feat of luck that his introduction to the game coincides with the Nature Day event! (More than that later though.)

Jolly Redd's Treasure Trawler

Another regular island visitor, Redd will visit on his trusty boat, offering a mixture of uniquely coloured furniture, sculptures and art to any and all who visit. Be very careful, just like in the real world, there are forgeries among the genuine artworks. The worthy must be separated from the worthless before the genuine articles are donated to the museum's all-new art gallery!

Nature Day Event (23rd April - 4th May)

Launching on the day of the update's release, this event will reward players will bonus Nook Miles upon completion of daily nature-based tasks.

May Day Tour (1st - 7th May)

Each player will be granted a single May Day ticket for use at the Dodo airport. Valid for the first week of May only, this ticket will take players to a unique May Day mystery island inhabited by a character series fans might be familiar with...

International Museum Day 18th - 31st May

Various exhibits in Blathers' museum will offer stamps during this two-week period. Players who fill up their stamp collection book will be rewarded with a unique event-specific reward.

Wedding Season (1st - 30th June)

Visiting Harvey's island during the month of June will give players the chance to partake in an anniversary photoshoot of alpacas Cyrus and Reese. Participation will reward players with a variety of wedding-themed items.

Just as many players were beginning to settle into a predictable rhythm with their Animal Crossing sessions, Nintendo shakes up the island routine with the return of some old favourite characters and seasonal events. It's exciting to imagine who might make an appearance on the island next... maybe a certain irate mole?

The event-filled update launches 23rd April for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch.
