Become the Eyes and Ears of a Cyberpunk World in Cloudpunk

There's not much that goes down in the gritty, neon-soaked future world of Nivalis that isn't seen by its package courier elite. In Cloudpunk, players will warm the seat of their own delivery vehicle, meeting an array of characters over the course of one eventful night that will leave more than a few lives changed forever.

With their own delivery hover-van, players will explore a wide open cyberpunk metropolis, full of (literally and figuratively) colourful characters, dubiously legal jobs and secret hidden areas. Through taking jobs, players will become intimately familiar with the individuals carving their own paths through life in Nivalis: "androids, AI and unscrupulous humans" all have their stories to tell and nobody lends an impartial ear like the unassuming package courier.

It wouldn't truly be a cyberpunk world without some corporate corruption, would it? Cloudpunk certainly has enough to make our current world look like a righteous paradise in comparison. Pulling apart the threads of mystery involving "conspiracy, hackers and rogue AI" is evidently part of the job description for Cloudpunk's courier protagonist—a damn sight more interesting than the job of a FedEx driver today.

As the common driving advice points out, it's beneficial to take occasional breaks from driving to get those legs working; Cloudpunk is heeding this advice with on-foot sections that let players get up close with the dingy, "rain-soaked" enivronments of Nivalis.

Discussing Cloudpunk's grounded approach to exploring a futuristic world, Marko Dieckmann, ION LAND's Studio Head, stated: "we had plenty of chances to make a game about shooting people in a futuristic city. With Cloudpunk we wanted to instead focus on what it’s like to experience a cyberpunk city, to live in there as a struggling delivery driver".

Cloudpunk releases on PC 23 April 2020.

PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch releases will hit the market later this year.
