Big Hops' New Free Photography Update is Out Now!
Luckshot Games is the developer and publisher of the 3D platformer Big Hops. This colourful and charming game embodies a frog protagonist as he uses his tongue and parkouring skills to find his way home!
The game released in January 2026, and it has received a 91% Very Positive reception from the Steam community, which inspired Luckshot Games to create a new mode! The major update adds over two hours of photography hidden object experience to Big Hops.
According to the Steam post, the team got inspired by the many photography-based games available. So they added Cappler — an owl with many conspiracy theories, from ghosts and aliens to mole people! Players will have an over two-hour-long experience proving and disproving his beliefs.

Luckshot Games had the following to say about the new major update:
Since the release of BIG HOPS, our team has been in a good mood. Watching people engage so strongly with your work after many years working on it is SO rewarding.
We’ve been focused on bug fixes and QOL improvements this whole time, but also feeling there are some parts of the design we could take even further.
Cappler’s Conspiracy is our first attempt at that. Hop’s camera gadget was at the top of my list for gameplay paradigms that had more design space to explore.
Taking pictures and seeing the world of BIG HOPS in first person is inherently fun and we spent a lot of energy making the camera track a lot of information about what it sees, so I wanted to do more there.

Here's what Big Hops' new major update, Cappler's Conspiracy, adds:
- A new, fully-voiced character: Cappler conspiracy theorist owl.
- 21 Photography Jobs focused on the owl's theories.
- 17 filters to play with in photography.
- Zoom lenses for far-away pictures.
- A new gadget, the Sky Shifter, which allows one to change the world.
- Six new Trinkets that add changes like playing in first-person, climbing on the ceiling, and more.

In order to play Cappler's Conspiracy quest, players have to get the camera gadget, which is available in the Desert world! By taking a picture of Desert Plains, Duster Bluffs, Rig Main, Beach Island, the Mines Entrance, and The Boneyard, players will reveal Cappler. This all has hints in-game!
The major update is out now, and Big Hops is also available now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.
