Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Switch Port Has Visual and Performance Downgrades

The long awaited Kickstarter project from legendary Castlevania producer Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has recently released on all platforms, and while it’s been met with positive fan and critical reception, the Nintendo Switch version appears to have received the short-end of the stick.

Not only did the Nintendo Switch version of the game release a week later than other platforms, but it’s also been met with the usual Nintendo Switch downgrades. While this is expected for bigger AAA titles, it’s quite surprising for Bloodstained considering the smaller scale of the game and its more limited visual detail.

A recent comparison video from Direct-Feed Games has shown that the Switch version not only looks worse visually with dimmer colours and a seemingly lower resolution, but the performance of the game is also lacking when compared to the PlayStation 4 version. Needless to say, if you have multiple systems it might be a good idea to consider getting the game on something other than the Nintendo Switch.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
