Bodycam Is Now Updated To Unreal Engine 5.5 In New Update

Reissad Studio have announced the release of a first major update for their hyper-realistic multiplayer FPS, Bodycam.

The first major update to the Early Access game, the patch improves stability, performance and gameplay, as well as a focus on community feedback, and the inclusion of two brand-new maps and content available now.

As Bodycam has migrated to Unreal Engine 5.5, the advanced features which comes with the engine have been incorporated into the update with Lumen rendering, a review on all existing and new maps to reduce GPU/CPU usage, and other optimalisations to help the game run smoother.

The two new maps: one a CQB Power Gun map, the largest close-quarters environment in the game due to extensive scanning of real-life locations, a rework to the Wornhouse map, and a new Village map designed for the overhauled Zombies mode.

New weapons like the Crossbow have also been added to help players silently take down the new zombie enemy types, which have had their AI and behaviours changed to be more immersive.

The developer has also released a patch to resolve frequent crashes in game lobbies when hosting or loading a game after a friend invitation was received, including fixes to spawn bugs, issues with server lists and much more.

To combat any future issues, a new internal QA process designed to prevent further problems regarding the game’s multiplayer and connection have been implemented by the development team to continue consistent quality with each release.

Other fixes coming with the major update are matchmaking flow will now feature proper state synchronization, a community-requested map voting system, an overhaul in the audio to make the game’s sound effects sharper, and updates to the visual effects to k=make them more realistic.

The aspect ratio and input rebinding interface have been redesigned to accommodate each player’s hardware and monitor, and best align with the Unreal Engine 5.5 framework.
