London-based developer Bossa Studio has cancelled their upcoming title Decksplash after failing to hit the mark during its free week.
Recently Bossa Studio announced that for one week their skateboarding meets Splatoon title would be free for one week. During what was dubbed the Splash N' Grab event, Bossa Studios put the life of the product down to the fans. If 100k players picked up the game during that time then Bossa Studio would have released the game into early access right away. With the news now though, it seems the title failed to hit the needed numbers and therefore, as stated in the Splash N' Grab event, has now been cancelled.
In a statement released about the news Bossa Studios noted that "It has been quite a nail-biting ride for the team, watching numbers climbing, players having fun, maths, wagers and predictions around the studio done. In the end, we fell short of the 100,000 players we set ourselves as a goal." Ending the statement with a message to fans of the game. "So from all of us here in the Decksplash team, Thank you for your support and we’ll see you on our next big adventure!"
The team will now move to work on their next project at Bossa Studio, whatever that may be.
