Capcom is Looking for Resident Evil Fans to Test Upcoming Game

The remake of 1998’s Resident Evil 2 just released earlier this year, but Capcom is already looking for testers on a brand new title.

Capcom’s Division 1 (responsible for Resident Evil and Devil May Cry) has sent out a recruitment letter to Resident Evil ambassadors in Japan in search of game testers. The testing will only run on 8th September and 9th September. With such a short testing cycle, it seems that Capcom is looking for more general feedback as opposed to the kind of bug testing that usual game testers provide.

Obviously, this is cause for excitement for Resident Evil fans, with the most obvious assumption being that Capcom is working on another new Resident Evil title, likely for next generation hardware. The question is what the new entry actually is.

With Division 1 being the team sending out the letter, it seems most likely that this new entry will either be Resident Evil 8 or a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Regardless of which entry it is, there’s no reason to expect it out any time soon, with this kind of search for feedback indicating that the team is still in the early stages of development.

Currently Capcom is working on the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion, which is set to release on 6th September for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a PC release coming in early 2020.
