Capcom Releases New Gameplay Trailer for The Ace Attorney Chronicles

Capcom released a new gameplay focused trailer for The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, the latest instalment in the Ace Attorney franchise and prequel to the Ace Attorney Trilogy, on 22nd June. The gameplay footage featured classic Ace Attorney staples, such as investigating scenes and courtroom battles, as well as two new features: “Summation Examination” and “Dance of Deduction.”

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a two-game set featuring the previously Japanese exclusive The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and its sequel The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve. The games follow Ryunosuke Naruhodo, the ancestor of videogame courtroom legend Phoenix Wright, as he pursues a career as a defence attorney in both England and Japan during the late 19th century. The set features 10 new cases and eight slice-of-life episodes, called Escapades.

The main focus of the recently released trailer was gameplay inside the courtroom and outside while investigating. Among the features shown were two new gameplay sequences. “Summation Examination” has the player, as Naruhodo, try to point out the flaws in the statements of six jurors. Meanwhile, “Dance of Deduction” has the player deduct reason from the detective Herlock Sholmes’ own flawed deductions while simultaneously having a pose off.

Capcom also released the first of its “Case Preview” social media series, a series of video posts going over details of different The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles cases. “Case Preview” will be released each week leading up to the game’s release.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will release 27th July of this year on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Purchases of the game before 31st August will include the “From The Vaults” Early Purchase Bonus, a collection of 54 art and music pieces and some never-before-seen content.
