Cave Story confirmed for eShop release in PAL regions

Publishers Nicalis Inc have announced via Twitter that Studio Pixel's Cave Story is to be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in both Europe and Australia, with a release date of May 1st given for Europe and a date for Australia to be confirmed.

This version of Cave Story is separate from the 2011 3DS retail release and is instead the 2010 WiiWare version of the title that had been developed by Nicalis, including updated character designs, music and gameplay modes not present in the game's original, independent release. This version has been available in the American eShop since October 2012 but this is the first time it is being made available in the PAL territories.

Despite confirming a release date, Nicalis have not yet announced the game's price in either Sterling or Euros.
