Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Continues Its 2025 Victory Lap with 5 Million Sales Hit

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been a standout title of the year, despite having fought against some of the most highly anticipated releases in the indie sphere. Its success is far-reaching, as its focus on the struggling RPG genre and the AAA-focused industry should have seen it struggle to take off as much as it did.

This didn't stop Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive from releasing a title that shook the world and continues to dominate six months after its launch. It's an impressive title that came out of seemingly nowhere, and it's a standout in a time where titles of high-grade quality are being priced near the triple digits, only costing £41.99.

It's no surprise, then, that the debut title of the studio has reached an impressive milestone of five million sales across all platforms. Launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via GOG, the Epic Games Store, and Steam, it's honestly nothing to scoff at, especially for a development team so small.

To celebrate the huge milestone, Sandfall Interactive is working on creating a free update for all players as a "thank you" for the support their title has received. There's going to be some major changes and surprises.

Here's what we're expecting in the free update:

• A new playable environment with new enemy encounters and surprises.
• New boss battles for late-game players to test their skills against.
• New costumes for all of the members of the Expedition, including more customisation options throughout the adventure.
