Classic and New Pokemon Titles coming to 3DS

The latest Nintendo insider brought great news to fans of the Pokémon Franchise by way of an announcement that some of the classic games are coming to the 3DS alongside some brand new spin off games.

First up is Pokémon Picross. The popular Picross series meets the world of Pokémon when Pokémon Picross launches in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS in early December. Pokémon Picross will be a free download and will have over 300 stages. After solving number puzzles to complete pictures of Pokémon, fans will be able to add them to their collection in the game.

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon comes next on February 19. The procedurally generated dungeon crawler will sport every single known Pokémon: all 720 of them!

Last but certainly not least, the games that started it all; Pokemon Red and Blue and Pokémon Yellow Version will on February 27. These games will all be rereleased on the Virtual console for the 3DS systems and will sport full support for wireless trading of Pokémon. In the original incarnation, this trading feature was largely responsible for the sale of the Gameboy link cable but now, all you need is someone to trade with.

No sooner do I write an article about emulators, and lament the fact I want to play the original Pokémon games, then this happens.

Yay!
