Codex Interactive LLC Announces A New Single-player Extraction Shooter
Extraction shooters have been a famous genre in the industry for a while, though the genre's penchant for mandatory PvP mechanics has always kept some players at bay. To this end, titles like Escape from Duckov have begun veering from the genre staple, as has Codex Interactive LLC's latest announced title.
Omen is an extraction shooter set in space, where players will have to infiltrate the remnants of a fallen empire to extract loot and survive against the hostile fanatics. With humanity reduced to The Voidborn after an apocalyptic event, players will take on the role of an immortal Astral to investigate the cosmic anomaly.
Serving the Halvonic League, players will be tasked with fortifying the base against enemy combatants who will invade, holding off waves of foes in space-faring combat. During the downtime between attacks, raids to the empire will provide challenges, quests, and loot, with no two runs being the same, and enemies adapting with each successful extraction the player pulls off.

Fight, die, and repeat as you enter the dimension and uncover the terrors within, bringing an end to the apocalypse that has plagued humanity. If Omen sounds like the type of title you'd like, check out the brief reveal trailer above.
For those looking up to a chance of getting their hands on the title, Omen will have a free-to-play demo launching on the 5th of February, with the full release date expected soon afterwards.
