Crema Talks About What You Can Expect From Temtem: Pioneers’ Gameplay!

Crema, which is developing and publishing the title, has been sharing new information about their upcoming open-world take on their franchise, Temtem.Called Temtem: Pioneers, this new entry will offer an open-world survival craft experience that keeps co-op and single-player both in mind from the beginning to the very end.

In their latest Steam post, the team explains a bit about the Downbelow — which is the name of the in-game area — and about what players can expect from the title itself.

Downbelow is a mysterious area below the Archipelago, an unexplored frontier. Nobody has ever returned from the depths when they enter, so it's up to the player to uncover the secrets that hide in it!

Crema has hand-crafted the entire open world, which players have been wondering about. Temtem: Pioneers has been made to have a fixed world, as well as an ending; some of this was covered during their recent FAQ.

The Steam post opened up more about what players can expect. There will be a day and night cycle, and this will influence what Tems will appear in each biome.

Since exploration and crafting are core elements of the gameplay, in addition to combat, Crema talked about what players can expect from the two elements. To facilitate collecting resources — as well as allowing players to experience Temtem: Pioneers at their own pace — resources will grow over time.

This makes it easy to collect what's needed for crafting, making it more manageable for players to explore when they are ready. In that same breadth, there will be no punishing survival mechanics, such as thirst or hunger; Crema doesn't want them to restrict players from exploring.

While sleeping won't be a necessity, it can be done to create a respawn point of sorts. It won't be mandatory, and conditions don't need to be met, such as at specific times: players can do so whenever they want.

There are many biomes available in Temtem: Pioneers, but they won't be accessible at the beginning of the game. Being able to go into them is part of the progression system, and when players do enter them, they will find more recipes, materials, and trinkets, among other things.

This sort of information helps players paint a clearer picture of what the game will be like! If you like what you learned about Temtem: Pioneers, remember to wishlist the game on Steam; if you want to support the project, there's also a Kickstarter available until the 9th of May.
