Daymare Developer Pivots From Famous Franchise to Create New Friendslop Title

Friendslops have become a very prominent and successful genre in the videogame industry, reviving cooperative play and breaking friendships like in the good old days. The renaissance of multiplayer experiences came from titles like PEAK, R.E.P.O., and RV There Yet?, which brought players together to complete a task... with frustratingly difficult requirements.

As one of the newest fads in the videogame industry, we've seen all sorts of evolutions come and go, with even a Steam Demo entering Steam's top 100 concurrent players, which is a massive accomplishment. With Burglin' Gnomes looking to take the crown of the latest big friendslop releasing, and other epics like YAPYAP claiming their place on the throne, friendslop is still alive and well.

Now, prominent horror developer Invader Studios has decided to take a stab at the friendslop genre, creating a title that deviates from their usual escapades. Recently announced Panic Delivery took part in the latest Steam Next Fest, acquiring 7000 new couriers to check out the experience.

Set in a dystopian horror world filled with grotesque monsters, players take on the role of human clones working for the titular company. Panic Delivery has up to four players sharing 99 lives, delivering, recovering, and smuggling packages through the monster-filled wasteland.

Players will have to face diverse groups of monsters, each with different behaviours, as they try to deliver across various locations. From haunted homes, factories, and more, players will need to earn their buck, all the while risking their 99 lives to make it out the other side.

Once the party has inevitably lost all their lives, it'll be back to the beginning, but permanent cosmetic unlocks will remain, and each run, couriers learn more. Better routes, weapons, tools, defence options, and much more to weaponise everything in their capability and complete their deliveries.

The title will be launching in Early Access sometime in Q2 2026, with an expected development cycle of about one year. Check out the Early Access trailer above to learn more about the gameplay.
