Destiny Rise of Iron Officially Revealed

It comes at no surprise that a new Destiny expansion is in the works and now after some speculation and a pre-E3 leak, Activision and Bungie have officially announced Rise of Iron, the next expansive adventure that will be arriving this September.

Rise of Iron will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 20th of September for £24.99. No mention of a PS3 and Xbox 360 release, so it looks like they've been ditched. Which isn't surprising considering Activision's lack of support for their other popular shooter Call of Duty

Nonetheless, Rise of Iron is set to bring whole bunch of new content and the return of the fan favourite rocket launcher, the Gjallarhorn.

Rise of Iron introduces players to the Plaguelands, a new area beyond the Earth's Cosmodrome. The next generation of Iron Lords have risen and the land has become infected with mutated Fallen which you and team of Guardians must stop.  On the Plaguelands, you'll get to take part in a new set of story missions, a new raid, strike as well as patrol missions. And of course, you'll also get earn new gear, weapons and take part in new multiplayer mode and maps.

Players of Destiny must own expansions one and two (The Taken King) to play and PlayStation owners will receive timed exclusive content.

Check out the reveal trailer above for your first look.
