Devil May Cry–inspired 2D Spectacle Fighter SoulQuest Launches on Steam
SoulBlade Studio LLC, alongside publisher indie.io, have celebrated the release of SoulQuest. Originally Kickstarted on the 24th of September 2024, this title showed off its potential with a playable demo, beautiful pixel art, and snappy animations that impressed.
It managed to just pass its funding goal of $50,000, reaching $55,095 with 713 backers total. Two years later, the title has been released — in full — on Steam, bringing the fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay without passing through an Early Access period.
For those who don't know the experience, SoulQuest is a 2D spectacle fighter heavily inspired by Devil May Cry's combat. Using flashy attacks, players can accrue higher ratings, get new skills, and revisit old levels to try to hit higher scores in completionist runs.

The story follows Alys as she sets out on a quest to save her husband from the goddess of death, Morrigan. As the hero perishes, his wife finds a druid who promises to help her recover him, though many trials will await her before she is able to battle the gods themselves.
The title is out now on Steam as of the 1st of May 2026, with an introductory offer bringing the price down to £12.79 from its original £15.99. You have until the 15th of May to get the 20% discount before it reverts to its normal price!
