League of Legends Shows Off New Champion Locke in Cinematic
It's been a while since we had the opportunity to play as a new champion in League of Legends, as the 2026 releases were slowed down slightly. Last to launch was Zaahen at the end of 2025, where we got to experience the epic cinematic that led to the ending of the narrative arc.
Afterwards, during 2026 Season 1: For Demacia, Riot Games focused on the promised rework for Shyvana. The successful launch was exciting, though it doesn't quite scratch the itch of a new champion.

Since then, we've known that the new upcoming one would launch during 2026 Season 2 Act 2: Pandemonium, which focuses on Vayne and the demons of Runeterra. During the latest Dev Update, we learned that Locke would also be launching soon, and a cinematic was sure to follow shortly thereafter.
Lo and behold, a new video dropped on the official League of Legends YouTube channel, titled Back from the Brink. This cinematic gives players a look at Locke, battling against the demon that's taken hold of Vayne, and showcasing some of his demon-hunting skills.
While it's all just cinematic currently, Locke's full ability reveal is sure to come soon, as his launch approaches. Stay tuned for more information, and check out his cinematic trailer embedded above.
