Electronic Arts Closes Mythic Entertainment

Electronic Arts has put out a press release announcing the closure of Mythic Entertainment and the Fairfax, Virginia studio.

Responsible for Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning, Mythic were a big name in MMORPGs for a while giving the players one of the few alternatives to EverQuest way back when.

Despite such laudable credits to their name, after those two titles closed Mythic found themselves flailing about madly trying to find a niche to sit in and missed horribly with the execrable mobile version of Dungeon Keeper.

Unfortunately this means Mythic join a list of studios closer after aquisition by EA that includes Origin Systems, Bullfrog Productions, and Westwood Studios.
