Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: Bonus Episode Details Revealed

Square Enix has released details surrounding the standalone bonus episode for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, the PlayStation 5 re-release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, set to release on the 10th June. Details include the episode's name, the story's premise, protagonist Yuffie's abilities and the names of the English voice cast.

The new episode, titled FF7R Episode INTERmission, will feature Yuffie, a member of Wutai's ninja operative corp. As an agile ninja, she'll be able to use a massive throwing star while dealing bonus damage with her Elemental Ninjutsu ability. She'll also deal colossal damage with a powerful 'Banishment' attack and a ferocious gust of wind known as Windstorm.

The episode itself will see Yuffie working with Avalanche, infiltrating behind enemy lines to steal valuable materia from the Shinra Electric Power Company, thereby dealing them a crushing blow. It will introduce an array of new characters, including Zhijie, a Wutain native (voiced by Griffin Puatu); Avalanche members Nayo, Billy Bob and Polk (voiced by Ashley Boettcher, David Goldstein and Daniel Amerman respectively); and villainous Shinra higher-up Weiss (voiced by Daman Mills).

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which will not include FF7R Episode INTERmission, will come with gameplay improvements, graphical upgrades and performance boosts which make use of the PlayStation 5's hardware. It will be free for all owners of the original PlayStation 4 version from launch. However, people accessing the game through their PlayStation Plus membership will not count as owners and therefore will not be eligible for the free upgrade. No players will receive FF7R Episode INTERmission for free.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and FF7R Episode INTERmission will both release for the PlayStation 5 on the 10th June as separate titles.
