Free-to-Play Vehicular Action Game Crossout Announced

Gaijin Entertainment and Targem Games have announced their upcoming title, Crossout, a vehicular action game based on the free-to-play model.

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, which is probably the excuse for all the cut-throat vehicular combat contraptions you can mount on different frames ranging from buggies to off-road vehicles. There's melee weapons like chain saws and drills, as well as bad stuff like machine guns, cannons and rocket launchers. A high degree of customisation in the form of parts, from armour to weapons to support systems, will be available as well.

11037814 962487470451883 4757008867543247578 o2These vehicles can be traded too, with promise of a marketplace and trading system between players, and these parts can be earned from gameplay itself. An advanced damage model will form the core of the gameplay mechanics, which might be some form of what they have currently in War Thunder Ground Forces, the tank combat component in Gaijin's free-to-play action game centred around WWII.

Crossout is currently in development, and beta testing is scheduled to start in the summer. You can sign up for the early access here.
