Friday the 13th: The Game Is Shutting Down

Friday the 13th: The Game Is Shutting Down

Announced on the game’s official Twitter, the popular multiplayer survival horror title Friday the 13th: The Game is shutting down, as publisher Gun Interactive’s license for Friday the 13th is set to expire on the 31st of December 2023. This means Friday the 13th: The Game will no longer be available for purchase physically or digitally after that date.

This statement may not surprise long-time fans who have followed the many legal disputes Friday the 13th: The Game has struggled with over the years. Its troubled history has caused the development team to halt content production and close dedicated servers, so this was a long time coming.

For those who do own the game, it will be playable until the 31st of December 2024. Additionally, Gun Interactive notes in the statement that the price has been reduced to $4.99 for the base game and $0.99 for DLC content.

If you haven’t tried to survive on the grounds of Camp Crystal Lake, now’s your chance before Friday the 13th: The Game is officially removed from digital and physical storefronts on the 31st of December 2023. Until then, the title is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
