Frostpunk 2 Reveals New Roadmap Item
Frostpunk 2 launched on the 20th of September 2024, and 11 bit studios brought back the post-apocalyptic franchise. The sequel built upon the original, bringing a slew of changes to keep the gameplay fresh, all the while promising new content updates, DLC, and more.
The roadmap since launch has shown us a few changes that players could expect, with the first year of content being free additions via the form of updates. After the first two free Patches of 2024, the 2025 roadmap promised some exciting features, like the Free Major Content Update on the 8th of May, the console launch on the 18th of September, and the Fractured Utopias DLC on the 8th of December.
Now moving on to 2026, players can expect a bit more content, as the roadmap has now been updated to offer a sneak peek at what players can expect. We already learned about the release date for Frostpunk 2: Breach of Trust — the new DLC — but the roadmap update has now shared a look at the next DLC.

The newly announced DLC is codenamed "Surge DLC", seemingly hinting at a DLC with themes surrounding lightning hazards. With Breach of Trust taking place in New Edinburgh and following volcanic themes, players can expect all-new hazards, possibly new factions, and a new storyline for the announced 2026 DLC.
The roadmap also promises free content updates to release alongside the major DLC, meaning that for those who aren't interested in paying extra, some more content should be arriving. Notably, we know that Breach of Trust will be coming on the 23rd of June, so more free content should arrive, and who knows what sort of content we can expect for Surge DLC.
