Game Freak Files Trademark For New IP

Game Freak - who is predominantly known for its work on the Pokémon franchise - has filed a trademark for a brand new IP titled Little Town Hero.

This is likely the full name for Town, a project that was announced last year during Nintendo’s September Direct. Very little is currently known about the project, other than it’s a 3D action adventure title with role-playing elements that is scheduled for a 2019 release.

With the lack of information about the game during the past year, it seems likely that it’s been quietly delayed to 2020, with Game Freak primarily focusing its efforts on the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield. With the name being trademarked close to Nintendo’s usual September Direct presentation, expect to see more information then.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are releasing 15th November exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
