Gravity Rush 2 Online Servers Being Turned Off

Gravity Rush 2 Online Servers Being Turned Off

Sad news for Gravity Rush 2 as Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced their plans to turn off the online functionality for the game on 19th January, 2018.

This turn off date is only a year after the game was released and is sad to hear. The features that will be impacted by this include the option to send and receive challenges, browse leaderboards, receive or post treasure clues, receive or post photo ghosts or earn Dusty tokens from any of these.

It might seem odd that the shut down of the online features is an issue for a single-player focused game but the trouble is that the obtainable Dusty tokens are linked to in-game rewards. Once the servers are off, you will no longer be able to access the in-game costumes by means of the Dusty tokens. To make up for this though Sony announced that from now until the shut down the amount of Dusty tokens rewards for online actions will be increased. This means that you have until 19th January to unlock all of the items related to Dusty tokens.

This is not the first game to get a quick shut down recently as both The Tomorrow Children and Kill Strain was killed off in less than 12 months.

Gravity Rush 2 is available exclusively on PlayStation 4.
