Grimvalor Graduates from Mobile to Switch

There's certainly a history of mobile games making their way to Nintendo's flagship platform, but not many of them can boast the same level of critical acclaim as Grimvalor, Direlight's 2.5D hack and slash platformer. Originally released on iOS in October 2018 and Android June 2019, the game received numerous awards and nominations; now, it's available on the Switch with revamped controls and a New Game+ Mode.

Runner-up for Toucharcade's Game of the Year 2018 and winner of Google's 'Best Of Play 2019' award (Indie Game category), Grimvalor is a shining example of how mobile gaming platforms needn't be a hotbed of low-effort cash grabs.

When a quest to find the kingdom of Vallaris' lost king takes a turn for the worse, the nameless protagonist is plunged into 'The Abyss', a ruthless realm filled with foes and devoid of friends (save for the obligatory merchant). With nothing but your weapon, wits and a fighting spirit, players must traverse the realm and fight off the evil hordes, unlocking and upgrading their equipment and abilities along the way.

Grimvalor is out now for Switch for £11.99.
