Hardspace: Shipbreaker Launches "The Business is Booming" Update

The next major update for Blackbird Interactive's Hardspace: Shipbreaker is out now for the Steam Early Access version of the game. In addition to a new ship class and an all-new demolition tool, the update comes with a rework of the tool durability system and various big fixes. Watch the video above as Elliot Hudson, game director on Hardspace: Shipbreaker, outlines the update's major changes.

  • New Ship Class: Javelin - Characterised by long, enclosed corridors, these modular ship types were often used for industrial and scientific pursuits. Now, they're all set for you to salvage and help you pay off your billion-Credit debt to the in-game LYNX corporation!
  • New Demolition Tool: Demo Charge - Laying down and detonating these all-new demolition tools will trigger a series of powerful controlled explosions, capable of dismantling ships of nearly any material. Careful, though, Elliot warns that they aren't so easy to disarm with triggering a rather... explosive accident. If you're laying this down, it's probably best to be sure about it.
  • Weapon Durability System Rework - Blackbird Interactive has made "the effects of using damage tools clearer, more meaningful and more manageable".
  • New Bundle of Stickers - Yep. That's pretty much all you need to know.
  • Various Bug Fixes, Improvements and Quality-of-Life Changes - Check out the patch notes below for more details.
