Cradle Games' action RPG Hellpoint is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. In the developer's words, the game crosses "Dark Souls and Dead Space" in a tale involving "Cosmic Gods, quantum physics, and extinct space civilisations". Try to wrap your head around those concepts while you watch the launch trailer above.
Set on a space station called Irid Novo after a destructive event called 'The Merge' has descended, players embody a being that's awakened to a utter devastation. The station's scientific-minded human occupants have seemingly all gone missing—either killed or vanished it seems—and in their place lurks all manner of cosmic threats. Players must fight, explore and search for answers alone or with friends (via online or local co-op).
With its distinct setting, couch co-op functionality and the dynamic 'Quantic System' (which transforms the ship to varying degrees upon each death), there's enough here to differentiate Hellpoint from Dark Souls.
Hellpoint is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A Switch release is also planned for later in 2020.
