House Party Pulled From Steam, to Return in Watered Down Version

House Party Pulled From Steam, to Return in Watered Down Version

After a month on sale and 35,000 copies sold, Valve have pulled House Party from Steam, where it spent four weeks in the Top Seller list. This was in response to complaints they have received, although they have approached Eek! Games about the removal.

Eek! Games have released a statement, the full version of which can be found here.

House Party was temporarily removed as a result of a number of complaints that were sent to Steam about the game. The game has been a target for a certain group of people since the day it launched, and said people were posting very aggressive, distasteful and hateful comments directed toward the game and its community of players. I suspect the complaints about the game that Steam received were originating from the same groups. Steam agreed to let the game back on the site after some modifications (which we are working on now). They have generously offered me the opportunity to modify the game for re-admission to their service.

It would be interesting to see how many of those who lodged a complaint against House Party, which features full frontal nudity and sexual acts with consenting adults, also took up arms against Hatred, which features the sole objective of murdering as many innocents as possible.

Eek! Games state that House Party is being reworked and "watered down" for re-release. We'll keep you posted here at GameGrin.
