Hungry Horrors is Launching in Early Access with a New Trailer!

Hungry Horrors is a game that's inspired by British and Irish folklore, and it will be releasing in Early Access on Steam. But, what is Hungry Horrors?

Well, this is a card-based adventure, where you'll need to feed terrifying creatures with traditional regional dishes. While there's no combat, each card will be a meal that you'll serve one of these terrifying creatures. The whole point? Feed the Horror before it reaches you.

The demo was positively received by players, and after months of iteration that was driven by feedback from the community, Early Access is only the next step. Clumsy Bear Studio will be expanding its systems, content, and progression, all while involving players directly throughout development.

Here's what you can expect from Early Access:

  • Five distinct playable biomes, such as Caves, Woods, Bogs, Meadows, the Town, and the Dungeon and Kitchen.
  • 20 different folklore Horrors from British and Irish myths, such as Queen Mab, Dullahan, Jenny Greenteeth and more.
  • 42 dishes that are based on actual traditional recipes from Britain and Ireland
  • Eight legendary characters you'll encounter, including Herne the Hunter and the Wulver amongst them.
  • Various seasoning, cookware, potions and artefacts that will alter your recipes
  • Book of Taliesin, which will unlock new mechanics and strengthen future runs through progression.
  • Each Horror will have a unique fatality animation.
  • Original music tracks composed by Henry Taylor
  • Steam achievements, hidden interactions, easter eggs and unlockable mechanics.
  • Full controller support, as well as mouse-only and keyboard-only play modes.

With all of these elements, there's a lot to look forward to when Hungry Horrors releases in Early Access on 19th January. It will be available on both PC and Steam Deck, with more platforms to be considered after being released on PC.

If you want to be part of the group of players who shape Hungry Horrors throughout Early Access, why not give it a go? There will be regular updates, including new areas, creatures, dishes, and even more narrative elements throughout development.
