Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue Gets A Release Date

Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue has revealed a new trailer in anticipation of the upcoming Steam Visual Novel Fest.

Developed by Dreamloop Games and published by Aksys Games, this is a narrative adventure where your character, Harrison, is kidnapped and brought to a tropical island where he and ten others are forced to take part in a twisted reality show for the next six months.

But what’s the catch? Well, they’ll each receive $500,000 if they survive their extended time on the island. While it might not sound that bad, in Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue, there are no laws or rules for any contestants. Their only goal is to survive and entertain a depraved audience of viewers on the Dark Web.

While it may sound like a death game, Inescapable explores human nature and how social clout, wealth, and your own desires can impact you, especially when there are no laws, and you are actively encouraged to ignore the rules.

Unlike others in the visual novel genre, Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue allows the player to serve as Harrison’s moral compass. Your decisions not only impact the ending, but your choices will affect the behaviour of the other characters.

You’ll find that there are multiple narrative paths that you can influence through Harrison’s decisions. Above all, there will be no doubt that this will be a character-driven story with a diverse cast of characters with a voice acting experience that will let you immerse yourself into the backstories of each character. The immersive experience is only drawn out further with the original soundtrack, featuring music from Zero Escape’s Shinji Hosoe and Matias Lehtoranta.

Interested? Well, the good news is that you’ll be able to try it out for yourself in the upcoming Steam Visual Novel Fest, which starts on 7th August. You can then enjoy Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue to the full when it is released on 19th October on Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
