Koei Tecmo have announced their latest instalment to the popular Dead or Alive franchise this week through IGN.
Dead or Alive 6 will be a debut for the new engine, which has been employed to give greater visual fidelity, dynamic facial expressions, and 4K graphics with an improved lighting system. Your fighter of choice will even exhibit wounds if you're under intense fire, and sweat will form too to give a glistening shine.
Whilst the visual side has undergone some changes, the core mechanics have by and large stayed the same. Interactive stages will still play a part, with the following characters being confirmed to form part of the roster: Kasumi, Hayate, Hayabusa, Helena, Jann Lee, and Zack. There will be some brand new characters to add to this list as well.
There is a new combo and special system, however: Fatal Rush and Break Gauge. They say it's easy for beginners, but harder to really master which is where a seasoned pro would come in.
Dead or Alive 6 is slated for release at some point in early 2016, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the trailer above to get you started. Click on the little white arrows to scroll through some screenshots, too.
