League of Legends Lore of 2025 Ends with Latest Cinematic

This year, in 2025, Riot Games decided that the team would be going about the yearly seasonal approach differently: instead of one consistent season throughout the entire year, the team would instead shift every four months. This approach gave way to implementing new gameplay mechanics and revolved around four-month rotating events, with two semi-major patches in between.

The goal was to keep League of Legends more interesting and engaging throughout the period, inviting players to come back every so often to experience new content. This was supplemented with new game modes, new battle passes, and the return of the robust Runeterra lore.

2025 was the first trial, kicking off with Welcome to Noxus, as players followed Mel Medarda through arriving at her home for the first time since before the events of Arcane. Then, we visited Ionia in the Spirit Blossom Beyond season, and finally, Twilight's End saw the culmination of the year-long cinematics, comics, and events that had transpired.

To close out this chapter, the latest cinematic on the official League of Legends YouTube channel posted a four-minute video animated by Fortiche. This closes out the story that began with LeBlanc and Atakhan at the start of the year, leaving fans begging for the return of the studio's upcoming follow-ups to Arcane.

Don't miss out on the cinematic above — it's a great teaser for the final champion of 2025 and a sight to behold for fans of the lore and the show.
