League of Legends Releases Season 3 Classic Dev Update
The latest League of Legends Dev Update has launched, as we got a look at what we can expect for Season 3 of 2026. While we didn't get a name for the Season just yet (presumably, "Classic"), we do know what sort of content we can expect regarding the first Act of the Season.
Published on the official League of Legends YouTube channel was the seven-minute-long video titled "Classic, Mayhem & More | Dev Update - League of Legends", where we learned about what's to come in the new update. The Lion's share of the content — realistically, pretty much all of the seven minutes — went to talking about the content that we can expect for League of Legends Classic.

Here are the topics that were touched on in the YouTube video:
- Season 3 (themed after Classic, as far as we know)
- Classic game mode
- ARAM: Mayhem Classic-ish game mode
- The return of the Partner program
- The announcement of an upcoming announcement for the new Hall of Legends inductee
It's a short video, and it mostly focuses on the League of Legends Classic mode, but it's still a great opportunity to learn about what's to come. We'll learn more about the future of League of Legends as Season 3 Act 2 nears, where we'll learn what's to come for the rest of the year, alongside what we can expect for 2027.
