Learn More About Kiryu's and Kanda's Lives in the New Trailers for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties

SEGA and RGG have released new trailers, updating players on some more features that you can play in Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. 

In Yakuza Kiwami 3, Kiryu is the manager of Morning Glory Orphanage, where he'll be looking after the children who live there. Kiryu will become stronger as he becomes even more fatherly, with each chore and interaction unlocking a different substory for each child. 

These substories are known as Family Time Events. While some kids will have trouble with friendships, love, and the uncertainty of the future, Kiryu will help them work through their problems. By doing this, he'll rise up in his Daddy Rank, which will allow him to learn recipes, and improving many of his housekeeping skills.

The skills you learn will be available for a host of different mini-games, one of which being cooking, with others involving sewing, bug-catching, homework, fishing, and many more. Plus, the crafts and produce you make with the kids can be sold at the Morning Glory Market which can then be used to buy new ingredients and furniture for the orphanage.

While Kiryu has some heartwarming shenanigans occurring in Yakuza Kiwami 3, that's not quite the case for Kanda in Dark Ties. After all, as Mine, you'll have to work some major PR to turn Kanda's image around. These can involve solving problems around Kamurocho, notably, their woes and some heavy issues.

With Mine's work appreciated, Kanda will invite Mine to the brothel he frequents, and as they chat, Mine will notice that Kanda has some particular concerns. You'll learn more about these in Drink Links which will deepen your relationship with him. 

With Good Deed Quests to accomplish, Kanda and Mine will be helping out the different citizens around town. These will also include the Damage Control Challenge, specific missions to grow Kanda's reputation. So, bring him further than his initial reputation of "Actually Trash" and see if you can make him "Actually God" instead.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will be released on 12th February 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
