Learn More About Snacko's Major Update!

For those who might not be familiar with Snacko, this adorable pixelated farming simulator has you taking on the role of a little kitty who moves into the titular town. Unfortunately, it's cursed and broken apart, and it's your job to go around revitalising it! As in every farming sim, you can look forward to crafting, cooking, befriending, farming, fishing, and exploring the town!

The game, which is being developed by Bluecurse Studios and published by Armor Games Studios, came out in Early Access on the 6th of December; for those interested, there's even a roadmap to check out on their page!

But today, we're here to cover their latest major update, which brings a new and interesting feature that added quality-of-life changes to the mode. Named the camera mode, players can use it to freely fly around the town decorating! The zooming capabilities work to even bring items from far away and place them neatly in your desired spot.

Although the mode is currently just a build tool to change the area, the developer expressed interest in it becoming an easy way to snap pictures in the future without any HUD elements.

Aside from the changes to build mode, there have been some other tweaks here and there. These are:

  • The button to close the tray is now the same one to open or use Builder's Kit!
  • The camera mode can be toggled on and off through the left trigger or Shift.
  • On the Steam Deck, hitting interact will now open up a menu.
  • The control prompts are now centred properly.

As stated earlier, the game very recently came out on Early Access, but it's estimated to be in it for less than a year. The developer mentions there will be communication about this as time goes on, but their main goal is to refine the existing content, bring better stability to the systems available, and improve the UI/UX support, particularly for controllers.
