Looterkings Announces End of Service

Looterkings Announces End of Service

Indie title Looterkings by the developer of the same name, published by Headup, has announced the closure of the game's servers. Released in 2017, this game allows players to team up with up to three other friends as they delve into the dungeon and fight their way through the dark caves, mounting each other to form an unstoppable goblin tower.

The team announced the game would be closing by the end of the month, giving short notice ahead of the end. By the 31st of July 2026, Looterkings won't become exactly unplayable, as there is a single-player mode, but the entire multiplayer premise will be terminated.

The team offered no actual reason for the closing of the servers — likely associated with cost — but we did get a heartfelt goodbye from the developer and publisher. Still, audiences hoped for a bit more, like a splitscreen multiplayer mode to ensure that the game remains playable for groups, which the developer has so far not addressed.

There is no news on whether Looterkings will be available at a discount ahead of its discontinuation and delisting on the 31st of July, with the latest discount being on the 20th of May 2026. Collectors might have to fork over the £13.59 full price if they want to keep the game in their library, though there are still a few weeks before the closure of the servers.
