Lost Castle 2 Releases Final Major Content Update Before Version 1.0 Release
Hunter Studio released Lost Castle 2 two years ago on the 24th of July 2024, inviting players to partake in the 2D beat'em up roguelite experience. It's a vibrant adventure with over 200 different weapons and armours for players to take advantage of, mixing the two genres in a unique way.
The Early Access release received a total of 79% positive reviews with 8,255 ratings overall, earning it the Mostly Positive rating. It was a pretty big launch back when it first released, hitting an all-time peak of 20,280 players within the week of launch.
Now, the team has released the final update before the 1.0 release slated for sometime in 1Q2 2026. The February update brings celebration for the Chinese New Year of the Horse, bringing six horse-themed accessories to alter your character's look for the celebrations.
Here's what you need to know about the major February update:
- New enemies and bosses to battle against.
- New weapons, armour, and treasures added to the roster.
- New combat and balance improvements, including smoother animations, weapon balancing, and inscription resonance rework.
- Story progression updates, altering the way some mechanics are introduced to be done through story progression instead.
To celebrate the launch of the final content update, Lost Castle 2 is at a 20% as part of the Lunar New Year Sale, matching its previous historical low. The full 1.0 release is slated to come out sometime in Q2 2026, so this might be your last chance to get it at a low discount before a moderate price increase, as per the Early Access Game box on the Stema store page.
