Marvel Heroes Loses Fantastic Four

Marvel Heroes Loses Fantastic Four

Gazillion have signed a new licensing agreement with Marvel, to allow them to continue producing Marvel Heroes 2016 and Marvel Heroes Omega, which has resulted in them having to get rid of the Fantastic Four.

The forum post announcing this was removed or hidden, possibly going live before they announced it officially, but it was up long enough to hit reddit, and be copied by forum user Payneshu here.

FANTASTIC FOUR AND SILVER SURFER HEROES NOTICE
Under Gazillion’s renewed licensing agreement we do not have the rights to continue selling these characters moving forward. However, players who have already purchased or unlocked any of these affected characters and costumes before June 30th will be able to them continue playing them as usual.

Starting on July 1st, 2017, the following Heroes will no longer be available to purchase with Gs:

Mr. Fantastic
Invisible Woman
Thing
Human Torch
Silver Surfer

Achievements related to these characters will remain, as people who already own them will still be able to play with them. However, there will be no way to obtain them.

What's more, it will affect any costumes related to the Fantastic Four, including variants for Ghost Rider and Spider-Man.

What's interesting to note is this line:

These changes will bring Marvel Heroes 2016 more in line with Marvel Heroes Omega as well as other excellent Marvel licensed games and the Marvel Universe at large

While it's true that the Fantastic Four haven't appeared in a comic since January 2016, both Thing and Human Torch have appeared separately in other series'. This does seem to indicate that any future Marvel videogames, such as the upcoming LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, will be missing the four cosmically-altered science adventurers.
