Marvel Titles Pulled From Steam, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live
It started with a sale towards the end of December which was announced on Facebook. A host of X-Men and Spiderman games, as well as recent release Deadpool were reduced. The post contained the information that
These games – and their corresponding DLC – will no longer be available on the Xbox Games Store or the PlayStation Network after New Year's Eve
All titles based on Deadpool, X-Men and Spiderman have now been pulled from all digital platforms and the news confirmed by Dan Amrich, Activision's Community Manager on Twitter.
For those asking about it: Marvel Activision titles are no longer available for digital download. http://t.co/pabtJkcDnL Hence the sale!

It would appear that the digital distribution contracts have expired. As Dan puts it:
@Skarseld Contracts have dates. Whatchagonnado.

Capcom have also been affected with their Marvel Vs Capcom titles being pulled from digital sale as well. All games are currently still available in retail boxed versions. It is currently unclear what will happen once stocks of these run out.
The news is not all bad as it appears Marvel games are not disappearing completely.
Activision's Amazing Spider-Man 2 game is due this year, btw. Marvel & Activision are still making games together.

The general feeling is that Marvel are using the contract expiration to reassess their digital distribution network. Until we find out more if you want these games you better head to your local shop.
