MMOFPS Warface Preps for Console Launch

The free-to-play MMOFPS, Warface, will be blasting onto consoles later this summer. Developed by Crytek, of Far Cry and Crysis fame, and published by My.com, Warface launched on Steam almost exactly four years ago and soon, XBox One and PlayStation 4 owners will be able to join the fray.

Warface features four playable soldier classes - including the rifleman, sniper, medic, and engineer - two factions, and multiple game modes - both competitive and cooperative.

The first-person shooter has gathered millions of fans from all over the world and grown its offer to gamers with frequently added game modes and content. Along with an impressive collection of competitive game modes, in which players pursue dominance for glory and top rankings, the game features cooperative and narrative driven raid missions. Players enlist with the Warface military faction and join forces with four friends to take down the highly tactical and AI controlled Blackwood enemy forces. Success depends on teamwork and selecting the right mix of soldier classes, each with unique loadouts and special abilities. Gamers can choose to play as the Rifleman, Sniper, Medic or Engineer and equip accurately detailed weapons to operate in missions around the globe. Warface will go in Early Access this summer and already has extensive plans for completely free updates, after release.

No additional content has been announced for the console versions, which are expected to launch into early access later this summer, though My.com has announced "extensive plans" for free updates following its release.
