More Than 10 Million Copies Later, Dead Cells Is Still Going Strong

As of June 5th 2023, Dead Cells, the hit indie 2D roguelite from Evil Empire and Motion Twin, has sold more than 10 million copies since its Early Access launch on Steam in 2017.

After the original PC release, Dead Cells has been ported to consoles and even mobile devices! Evil Empire and Motion Twin have also stayed busy, releasing a whopping 34 free updates, including new weapons, levels, enemies, and even large crossover events with other indie titles, such as Shovel Knight and Hotline Miami, to name a few. 

In addition to the free updates, the game has received four major paid DLC, including the most recent and my personal favourite, crossover with the legendary Castlevania series, Return to Castlevania. Even with all of this content, Evil Empire and Motion show few signs of slowing down. With the tease of more updates being released through 2025, we can only imagine what's to come!
