New Atari Console Coming to Delight Retro Gamers

In the '70s and early '80s, you couldn't escape the Atari brand. The company became synonymous with gaming in the early days with hit after hit helping make them a household name. Sadly, thanks to some questionable decisions such as the poor ET game and the ill-fated Jaguar console saw Atari get bought out. Since then, they've been handed around more than one of those funny cigarettes at a student party and they haven't released a console since the aforementioned 64-bit machine in the '90s.

That's all set to change though, with the launch of the Ataribox, a new console that's currently being teased. So far, we know that it's a new machine which is designed to play both classic and modern games, and it comes in two versions, one with a retro-themed woodgrain effect front. Check out the teaser trailer above to whet your appetite, with more news set to come soon here on GameGrin.
