New Persona 5 Scramble Protagonist Details Have Been Released

Fans of Persona 5 who have been keeping up with the new Musou spin-off title - Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers - may remember a mysterious new girl appearing in previous promotional materials. Thanks to the official Japanese website, we now have details on this girl, including her identity, powers and connection to the Phantom Thieves.

Her name is Sophie, with the website revealing “A mysterious girl the Protagonist and others encounter in the other world version of Shibuya. She seems to have all but forgotten her memory, except for her goal to ‘become a good friend to humans.’ She is often giddy and mysterious, but her goal to ‘become a good friend to humans’ is genuine, and in order to accomplish that she works hard to support the Protagonist and company.”

Sophie is the only party member to not use a Persona in combat, instead using floating objects known as “Pithos”, as well as wielding yo-yo’s and a blaster. The exact differentiator between Pithos and Persona’s, and the exact properties of Pithos are currently unknown.

A short trailer for Sophie is also available, and although it’s in Japanese, it shows off some gameplay as well as her combat capabilities.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is set to release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch 20th February, 2020 in Japan, with a Western release date still being unconfirmed.
