Nier: Automata Dated for Early 2017

Via their E3 presentation, PlatinumGamesInc and Square Enix have given us more reason to get excited for their upcoming dystopian adventure NieR: Automata. The game will be coming to the PS4 for EU and PAL areas in early 2017. It’s a follow up to the cult-classic Nier from 2010 and tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 as they engage in their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful mechanoids.

2B is the main playable character and is an all-purpose battle android deployed as a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa. She is equipped with a sword for close quarters combat and the “Pod” support system for ranged battle. Her eyes are obscured beneath her standard-issue military visor, which she rarely removes. 2B is cool, calm, and collected. We got a new look at 2B and the world of the game in the above trailer, released to YouTube to coincide with the E3 announcement.
