NieR Replicant Honoured With Origami from Juho Könkkölä

Finnish origami artist Juho Könkkölä has created two massively impressive paper models of Emil and the Protagonist from NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... in celebration of the re-release's launch on the 23rd April. Take a look at the models in the official showcase video from Square Enix below, and get a closer look with some high resolution images at the top of this page. Trust us, you'll want to take these masterpieces in.

The models, each made from a single piece of Wenzhou paper, reportedly took Könkkölä 210 hours to complete including planning and preparation time. Each is a product of hundreds of delicate, precisely planned folds polished off with a wet folding process to create the finer details.

They're truly outstanding creations, a novel and inspiring way to honour the re-release of such a revered title.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… releases on the 23rd April for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
