Nintendo Aiming to Keep the 3DS Alive
In its most recent investor briefing, Nintendo has confirmed that its plans for the 3DS continue into "2019 and beyond".
It's quite a surprise given the revelation of the Nintendo Switch, but this news will be music to the ears of those who still find a lot of use in their glasses-less 3D handheld.

Just this year, Nintendo has a port of Captain Toad and the original Luigi's Mansion to release. Not forgetting the recent Detective Pikachu game, either. Perhaps Nintendo has plans for another heavy hitter that isn't a port over the next year or so.
Nintendo has been helped by the fact that there has been no out-and-out competitor released since the PlayStation Vita. Sony has apparently lost interest in the market, which is now mostly dominated by smartphone games. The 3DS still has its place though, which is a testament to the quality of titles available on the platform.
