No Man's Sky Origins Update Trailer

Developer Hello Games have released a trailer for their annual update for No Man’s Sky, titled “Origins”.

Managing Director of Hello Games and Programmer on No Man’s Sky Sean Murray has explained what the latest update entails, but you can some of it in the video above:

  • New dynamic weather & planetary systems, such as Lightning, Gravity Storms, and Volcanos
  • Dramatic landscapes in the depth of chasms, deeper caves, and higher mountains
  • Binary and ternary star systems possible
  • New alien fauna and wildlife
  • And a user interface overhaul

The full list of 3.0 patch notes can be found on the No Man’s Sky website.

The focus of this year’s major update seems to be on the variety of experiences we can expect, offering a diverse universe and planetary vistas to behold.

Such environmental additions offer more possible combinations in terms of what you could experience on any given planet, and the interactions of these elements expand the current build of the game.

Taking inspiration from the cult-classic 1965 science-fiction novel Dune, the official inclusion of the colossal “Sandworms” has been on the wishlists of both the fan’s and developers of the game; Murray seemingly confident that the team has been able to weave the worm into gameplay and environment naturally.

No Man’s Sky Origins expansion is free and currently live now across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
