One Island Per Console - Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Strict Limitations Revealed

Nintendo has confirmed that its upcoming release, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, will be severely restricted upon launch. Not only will players be limited to one island per copy of the game, but each Switch system can only hold one island too. This means that two players sharing the same console, with different user accounts, will not be able to create their own individual islands.

This is a concerning piece of information for a game that, in many other aspects, looks to be pushing the series forward. Time will tell if this seemingly arbitrary limitation can be lifted or at least lessened. No reason has been given for this decision, so it's difficult to predict the likelihood of it being changed.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches on 20th March exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Look, people loved sharing a GameCube and living in one town all together, so clearly 18 years on you want that.
