Operation Void Edge Available Now for Rainbow Six Siege

Operation Void Edge, the first season of Year 5 content for Ubisoft's hit online tactical shooter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. This season brings with it two new Operators, a map overhaul, myriad minor changes and, of course, a new Battle Pass full of unlocks and rewards for players. Check out the trailer above and read on for more details; for the full list of changes, click here.

Lana, the first new Operator, is an attacker from the Netherlands who can make use of a holographic clone of herself to scout ahead for intel, as well as fool enemies. Oryx, the new defender from Jordan, can use his strength in pulling off his 'Remah Dash' ability. This quick burst of speed allows him to cover ground swiftly, knock down foes and even breach breakable walls. In addition, Oryx can also climb up broken ceiling hatches.

Owners of the Year 5 Pass can access these characters now, while non-owners can begin to unlock them with Renown or R6 credits on 17th March.

The Oregon map is the next to receive a reworking: new points of access have been added while others have been removed; a visual overhaul has given the map a brand-new look; and most of its areas are now "more open and structured". These map changes are effective immediately for all players, whether a Year Pass owner or not.

On top of this, and in keeping with Ubisoft's penchant for franchise crossovers, a Lara Croft elite set has been added for the Operator Ash. Including a Tomb Raider uniform, headgear, victory animation, gadget and weapon skins, Ash fully embodies the bold adventurer with this latest set of gear.

Finally, the next Battle Pass, Around the World, has been revealed and will release in the coming weeks. With both a free and premium tier (costing 1200 or 840 R6 credits depending on whether a player is a Year Pass owner or not), all players stand to receive some kind of reward across the Pass' 35 reward levels.
