Classic 8-bit era franchise Pang  (aka Buster Bros in the US) is set to make a comeback soon thanks to remake masters Dotemu and French developer Pastagames.

The game was a massive hit in the 80s and 90s, garnering crowds of onlookers in the arcades and famously becoming the best selling game for Amstrad's ill-fated GX4000 system. A sequel on the Nintendo DS was released in 2010 called Pang: Magical Michael but this hasn't been followed up since.

Given the history of the developers handling the game and the screenshots that have been shown off on Facebook we can expect a version that stays true to the original but gives it a modern aesthetic.

There's minimal details available at the moment, but we do know it will be available for consoles, PC and mobile and it will be out in 2016. Dotemu announced that the new title "will maintain the original spirit of the game while delivering some surprises and new features!"
